Home to over 2,500 people, Mountain City, TN is the county seat of Johnson County. Located in one of the highest valleys in Tennessee, the name was changed from Taylorsville in 1885.

 

Mountain City is between Bristol, TN, and Wilksboro, NC by way of Boone, NC, on US Hwy 421. Also, this small mountain town is not far from Watauga Lake, and is located in the within the Cherokee National Forest, with access to multiple forms of outdoor recreation.
