The county seat of Unicoi County, and located just southeast of Johnson City, Erwin is part of the Johnson City Metropolitan Statistical Area. has a population of over 6,000 people.

 

Located just off of Interstate 26, running from Charleston, SC, through Asheville, NC, up to Kingsport, TN, Erwin is surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest. Nestled in the mountains, water, and all types of natural beauty and activities, white-water rafters, hikers, campers, find this area a wonderful recreational destination.

 

Also, boasting a large number of apple orchards, and long family traditions of apple farming, the town proudly hosts a consistently growing Apple Festival every year.
