Blountville, TN is the county seat of Sullivan County, with a population of over 3,000 people. The town has a place in Civil War History, with the Battle of Blountville, which saw the shelling and burning of the original courthouse. It is second only to Jonesborough as one of the oldest municipalities in Tennessee.

The Tri-Cities Regional Airport, and Northeast State Community College, are located in Blountville, as it is centralized in location between Johnson City, Kingport, and Bristol. The Bristol Speedway is just outside of Blountville.
 
A wonderful tour of Appalachian Caverns, the larges show cave in Eastern Tennessee, is available just south of Blountville.
